SOLD: 1979 Fender Hardtail Strat
Recently took this in trade for an amp I was selling, but, as lovely as it is, I prefer playing my Les Paul and ES-335.
It's in great overall condition for a thirty-eight year old guitar and the finish has faded very nicely, Neck profile is similar to the Fender modern C, maybe a tad fuller, and it plays very well indeed. The previous owner told me that it's completely original and I've no reason to doubt that. Supplied with its original hard case.
Struggling to put a value on it but would say somewhere around the £1,400 area. Seen similar ones on Facebook and Ebay from anywhere between £1,350 and a wildly optimistic £2,600. The last two 79's that sold on Ebay both went for £2,000, though neither were hardtails.
Would be interested in trading for a Gibson with a 60s neck profile, but feel free to try me with other things.
Based in Newark, Notts, though I work several days a week in London (Cannon Street), if that's more convenient.
