Nce picture!
I was driving from Grimsby to Scunthorpe on Boxing Day and saw about ten deer grazing in the fields off the A180.They're quite common round here, with all the surrounding farmland, but it's very rare you see them.Lovely when you do though.
I know they destroy plants/trees/etc, but - tbh - it saves me some pruning!
I'm no gardener and I'd be quite happy to have a Muntjac family take up residence, though it's unlikely with a couple of Lurchers around.
Nil Satis Nisi Optimum
We've got about 2 acres that's just left "wild" and pretty sure that Mrs Muntjac had little muntjac in there through the summer. Watched her suckling the littl'un around the garden, and taking it on a tour of all the best tree and bush food sources. Plus they often come down to the pond (which is close to the house) for water. Mr & Mrs still seem to be around most of the time.
The garden would provide quite a lot of food, but we'd prefer to get it from Morrisons instead
There were half a dozen partridges within 50yds of the house yesterday, one of the dogs chased out a Pheasant the other morning (and caught it unfortunately). Rabbits we have a-plenty. The goose pond is currently free of inhabitants, and we keep thinking about some bringing in some ducks & chickens ... but we'd rather keep the wildlife alive ...

Accorns
Fallen Cherry Tree leaves
They also like a nice sit in the sun too when is quiet and have been there for 5 hour duration some times...just sitting, resting, taking in the ambience...
