Finally got round to fitting the locking tuners on my strat last night.
Last thing it needed doing to be sorted (N.B. I have been fiddling with this guitar for 28 years now, and am therefore clearly deluded)
Stuck on one of the sets of strings I bought a month ago (all different kinds as I can't justify paying for newtones anymore and am looking for an alternative)
All on, all good. D string buzzing like a git.
I figured it was just a thinner gauge than the Ernie Balls I just took off, so no need to worry. Switch back next time, all better.
I've just checked the relative gauges, and it's thicker than the old one.
So I have wrecked the nut after all.
On the plus side, the whammy can now be abused with no tuning problems at all.
and the cycle begins anew;;;
