Long black (coffee)

Smutty lot.

Just back from a long trip to NZ South Island........amazingly long journey which kinda beat me into submission on the way out there.

Almost worth the 28 hours to get their Long Black coffees......I have to say I was almost addicted.

Doesn’t look too difficult to make.....add water first, double shot into it......perfection. How could I screw that up??

Just reading, the only difference seems to be that in an Americano the espresso goes in first so the long black retains more crema.
Costa now do a flat black. I don’t understand how that differs from an Americano in taste. Confused .

Plenty of UK coffee places offer a long black.

I always thought that it was just half way between an espresso and an Americano. Less water. I assume that the Italian "Lungo" is the same thing as a long black but that might just be cos it starts with an L.

The lungo is a long espresso shot

A long black is a 6oz drink made up of a double shot of espresso over hot water

An Americano should be made the same way, it's just a larger drink

Does anybody just drink COFFEE anymore ?
there must be at least 35 sub-species
It's a bit like Norwegians who have 27 different names for snow according to the type

me, I did try going into a starbucks about 12 years ago, but I got confused by the choices, the floppy haired youth behind the counter started mocking me for "just wanting a coffee" then a red mist descended and I can't remember anything else till I woke up in the wolf enclosure of london zoo.
So now I just make my own coffee.

My experience is that Starbucks are not capable of making coffee.
