Here's the 3rd Bass Riff of the Month (BRotM) Challenge, being run by
@stratman3142 and
@TTony.
The challenge is now open, and remains open for submissions until 11:30pm on 24th March 2018
BRotM can be interpreted by the entrants, ie as simple or complex as they like, to encourage as many as possible to get involved. It could be anything from a single RAW bass track to a full mix of instruments. However, the focus must be on the bass riff.
The bass riff needs to be created using a real stringed bass instrument, so that would include electric or acoustic bass (fretted or unfretted), Chapman stick, double bass - even cello perhaps
Keep it to a maximum of 50 seconds. This is about riffs, not songs.
Send your entry (as an mp3) to brotm@thefb.co.uk
Include your forum name in the email.
Voting will start soon after the submission deadline of 24th March 2018, with each voter selecting their 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice.
First choice gets 5 points - Second choice gets 3 points - Third choice gets 1 point
Voting will end on 11.30pm 31st March 2018
The order and scores of the three people with the most votes will be announced soon after the voting ends.
No prizes. It's just for fun.
It's not a competition.

This month I’ve gone for something mid 60’s flavoured which gave me the chance to bust out my Fender Strat12 which I ran through a “Lumpy’s Lemon Drop” pedal and into the “Voxalike” setting on GarageBand.
The Bass is a Harley Benton “BeatBass” which is an outstanding bargain of a Bass (I actually got mine 2nd hand for £60 but they’re only £130 new! ) in to the “60’s combo” setting in GB .
Drums were a preset “60’s songwriter” setting on GB .
Actually .... listening back to it now I think I’ve just re-written ‘ and your bird can sing ‘ ! @stratman3142 @TTony scrap my entry I’ll do another before deadline !
Just a reminder that entries will be closed tonight (24th March) at 11.30pm.

The submission deadline was 24th. The voting deadline is the 31st, then straight after that I'll start the next BRotM.
Hang on. I've got one from you, which you asked me to scrap. I wouldn't worry if you think it sounds like something else.
@sticker I'll include it in the playlist unless you ask me to remove it.
