Gear wise, I want a Duesenberg (spelling)... I think they're gorgeous, sound amazing, and yeah. Starplayer TV, please!
Playing goals is to spend some time learning and memorizing some well known tunes and riffs rather than just concentrating on techniques and theory. I did these in the opposite order to most people lol.
- Lose myself in synth land.
- Communicate only over the internet.
- Continue to focus on rhythmic playing.
- Lock the studio door and only open it for the pizza delivery guy.
The attitudes and intolerences of the post referendum/post Donald Duck in the White House world have worn me down.
Cant beat it, certainly not going to join it so I’m dropping out.
No particular goals other than to perhaps move a guitar or two on.
Playing
Better timing/phrasing
Improve my singing
Learn more songs
At the moment I attend a weekly jam night and rarely gig. Maybe do a few more gigs.
I really need to learn some songs!
Music wise, my original band is starting to pick up a bit of momentum so that will be the main focus of the start of 2019. Sorting out the social medias and that sort of thing. We have our first gig lined up in Feb and it's a fairly big one as far as first gigs go, so working hard like mad for the next month and a half to make sure we have our set down solid. Then hopefully we'll try to get a bit of studio time in to do an EP or at least a couple of tracks. I'm more keen to do that than gig relentlessly.
We have our 2nd child due in the summer so I'll be lucky to get much else done for the rest of the year! This is where I might be tempted again by a Helix as I'll be losing my guitar room to the eldest.
(Matron)
Gear wise, it's my 40th next year, and once we've bought a place, I want to treat myself to my first really good guitar. For me, that doesn't mean something like an R8, as it's not my taste. I had hoped to find a decent guitar from my year of birth, but it seems like most things from 1979 aren't actually that good.
I'm currently dealing with strong GAS for a Fender Blacktop Jaguar. That might happen.
Playing definitely look at playing live again. It's been nearly ten years. I definitely want to up my playing and theory knowledge. I may even take a few months away from this forum.
Gear wise I want a Suhr SL68
Gear wise - get more out of what I have. Maybe investigate a Gretsch - if I beat my time goal for Brighton marathon in April I might just go straight to GAK and grab one!
Songs - I have too many 'good bits' that I've had kicking around for years. They need fashioning into complete songs and this could be the year.
Failing that playing for just 20 minutes a day would be good. I have times when I don't pick up a guitar for 2 weeks which frustrates me greatly - im my own worst enemy in this regard.
Gear wise, i hope to get a new lunch box head and a 112 cab at some point in 2019.
Gear:
No plans for anything unless other needs pop up that make it unavoidable.
Playing:
Keep focusing on the song and the arrangement.
Performance:
Put together a solo acoustic set for my band-oriented songs.
Continue to try and put a band together so I don't have to...
I’d like both my children to be playing well by the end of the year. They are both keen so it should be too hard.
Maybe grade 8 classical.
An amp that isn't Fender would be cool, and a lot more wear on all of my guitars
