I play guitar and take photos of stuff. I also like beans on toast.
Is there something of similar quality and price but where you can use normal batteries so that you don't need to charge them?
I'm trying to cut down on cables and how much space I use as I don't have a set practice area in my home. I don't like the units where you have to have a receiver and you still need a cable to go from that to your device.
The transmitter is charged through the TRS jack on the unit itself, so if you have a guitar with an active preamp that uses the TRS socket to turn it off and on, it won’t work with the G10.
Real world example? Quite a few electro acoustics, the ghost preamp system, and many active Ibanez guitars and basses
Having said that, the Boss one I have has less interference and is thus quieter..
Great piece of kit
The wireless receiver acts like a buffer so the fuzz doesn't sound as good with the receiver in front of it as it would connected directly to the guitar with a cable. I think that is likely to be the case with most wireless receivers rather than a complaint about the Smoothhound in particular.
I could try mounting the fuzz on a guitar strap before the transmitter but would rather try getting a fuzz pedal that sounds ok when placed after a buffer so I can put it on the board after the wireless receiver instead.
I'll try them and report back!
