The body could be from various models. Black/white/black pickguard suggests Standard series rather than anything vintage.
The bridge is either a Gotoh or a clone. Very wise of you not to drill the two additional screw holes.
The clinching factor is the length of the pickup cavities. On older Standard series J Basses, they are of equal length.
The body in the photograph is clearly finished in a yellow > red > black sunburst. (This would be correct for 1962.)
Fender tobacco sunburst is yellow > orangey brown > extremely dark brown. It was a CBS creation, used between 1977 and 1981.

The finish on both your bass and my musical collaborator's 1977 Stratocaster exhibit the telltale sheen of urethane.
Probably wiser to sell or trade the thing *as seen* to a project fiend.
These could help identify it.

N = Nineteen Nineties
1 = 1991 or, possibly, 1992
There may be stickers or rubber stamps in the neck pocket and pickup cavities.
Indeed.
I would expect one of those gratuitous circular holes routed under the pickguard.
A vintage style body should have its drilled holes laid out slightly differently to the Standard model.
A vintage style pickguard should have holes for the finger rest screws and a dip in its edge to improve access to the truss rod adjuster.
On the back, does the black part of the sunburst follow the edge of the body as on the front, or does it follow the inside edge of the belly contour so the whole of the slope is black, like this?

In that pic the finish looks 'Japanese Fender' to me, but is very hard to be sure.
Any routs or extra screw holes under the guard?
