As @RaymondLin says, any shop in Akihabara Tokyo
Don't really like browsing guitar shops so much now, but when I do, I prefer s/h stores with unexpected stock. I did like Southside Music and Main Drag music in Brooklyn though.
My feedback thread is here.

And Turner & George in London.
I’m so bored I might as well be listening to Pink Floyd
I'll add a few more...
Beanos of Croydon when it was open, although it was normally overpriced.
Foster and Sons of Jermyn St has been a shoemaker since the 1800's and you get the feeling they haven't updated it much since. The smell of leather in there is fantastic, and they make great shoes!
Hamley's brings back fond memories of visiting as a child. Now I love taking my kids there. The look on their faces when they realised the whole shop sells only toys was priceless.
I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing I ain't pretty and my legs are thin
But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to
Britcher & Rivers, on the High Street in Rye, East Sussex.
Major draw; They still sell the old-fashioned chewy Toffee Crumble (not the newer rock solid Chocolate Nibs-type bullshit). Plus, the owner is a hilariously grumpy bastard who never fails to let you know his (let's call them forthright ) opinions on local politics, national politics, global politics and (his favourite subject) how often the bins are collected.
Highly recommended.
