If you can't find a petrol focus, fwvliw out of those 2 id go for the petrol engine Seat.
(My daily driver is a white 2016 Civic, near identical to the one you're looking at, all beit the facelift model with their 1.8 petrol engine. They drive well enough but not engaging at all. The interior is well put together, mine doesn't rattle or squeak at all.
Good luck with it, buying a cur under time pressure isnt as fun as it should be.
Zzzzzzzzz.

(No, of course I didn't really, its only been a week or two )
The earliest they could have it ready for me is Thursday - so I'll let them know tomorrow if I'm taking it.
It's not what I want but it is the most reliable car in surveys and will likely resell without difficulty when I find what I want.
Unless I find something more to my liking by tomorrow afternoon.

Been reliable - though she's had it main dealer serviced (pricey pricey) since she got it so it's been properly looked after.
But it is a bit of a mother in law car.
You'll take a hefty £hit though - paying top£ from a main dealer and then selling privately (or p/exing).
Go find a TFSi Mk2 TT.
They're starting at <£5k now, and £6k would get you a decent one. Mileage will be 60k+, but that's nothing as long as its got FSH. Cambelts need doing at 70k, so look for one that's been done and save yourself a big bill (ie it's worth getting one with more miles that's had the belt done, rather than lower miles but you'd have to get it done).
My MIL likes hers,

You can half guess what kind of previous owner it had by things like does it have match tyres, service history.
Plus everything these days comes with sports suspension, it’s not a negative. You got to drive it to see if it’s actually a harsh ride.
My C30 is “sporty” model but I wouldn’t say it’s harsh, in fact my friends said it’s very smooth!
