Alien was the scariest thing I'd ever seen when it first came out, straight out of nightmares....what an incredible imagination. RIP.
Am a bit of a Giger obsessive as my 30th birthday gift from my wife might indicate. I was just talking about him the other day as my wife was looking into going to the Giger café and museum. She said to me "Is he still alive?". I absolutely loved his approach of combine the mechanically achievable with the visually terrifying. RIP.

The producer of the most disturbing, unsettling art I've ever seen. Without him there would have been no 'Alien'. Who knows what was going on in his head? Sad news.
Nice. My missus was saying the other day how much she like the Giger Iceman, after I'd shown her a photo of one.
RIP.
@randomhandclaps the Giger musem is good, I've been twice now. His collection of other people's art is in there too, pretty interesting stuff. The bar is good too. At least, when there isn't a big old guided tourist pack about! It's all pretty bizarre given how staid and up it'[s own rrse Switzerland is...
Apparently the man himself could sometimes be found in the bar.
The exchange rate had made everything v.expensive compared to our prev trip, but definitely worth a visit to the museum if you're over there.

As well as the Alien, there's no way the Borg weren't completely Giger inspired.
Scarily good artist, not to mention very close to the bone with a lot of his work.
RIP HR.
