They do look good in Darth Orange mode. Is that a dual dark?

Indeed it is, along with the Closed back 2x12.

  • I've just realised that I've posted this in the classifieds! (Doh) If a mod could move it for me that'd be great.

    that sounds really good.

i noticed you had one channel set pretty clean...how much clean headroom does it actually have?

have you tried the extreme of setting one channel to clean and the other to full-on distortion?

    This would interest me.

I didn't like the dark terror much, but the Jim root terror had an amazing sound. If it has that more classic high gain voice, and clean headroom, it's an excellent sounding head.

I've not had a chance to crank it yet so I can't comment on clean headroom in the output section.

Both channels go through 4 stages of preamp gain as you turn the gain knob. Both channels start to add grit after about 9:30 O'clock.

I had Channel A set to about 10:30 O'clock for the cleaner sounds in this using the volume knob on my guitar and picking dynamics to show it clean up. My pickups are fairly high output though.

I think the way the preamp tubes operate is that that v1 is gain stage 1 & 2 for channels A & B. V2 is gain stage 3 & 4 for Channel A. V3 is gain stage 3 & 4 for Channel B. So you can probably get more clean headroom playing with different preamp tubes as-well as gain low/channel volume high for your clean sound. I just prefer to use it as 2 gritty sounds that clean up with the guitar volume.

FYI the video is only at bedroom volume levels.
