Saw this pop up on my Facebook - and I'm actually very, very interested:

Not cheap, but sounds pretty awesome! Just checking with British Airways about flying with a Gibson Les Paul, then might have to book it. My only concern is it would be focused on 'shredding', but I know Paul is an excellent teacher; anything to increase speed, efficiency and become more proficient would be worth it I reckon.

Yep, sure am. I signed up to that a few months back - can highly recommend it.

Stellar lineup, same place as the Vai version, should be great fun! Do you get to jam with him as well like with Vai?

Also did you sort out the Les Paul, what did BA say?

Yeah, the first night is a full-on jam session where everyone gets to jam with him (and the other instructors like George Lynch).

Flying with Virgin in the end - they've said I can carry the guitar through check-in to the gate. I've also got a full-on heavy duty flight case (and SKB case) for it, so it should be as protected as it can be....!

Unlikely, given the way his playing's developed over the last couple of decades.

I'd be more worried about mandatory use of a slide, which I'm clearly far too stupid to operate...

... and why would I need one of those things anyway? I have a fully floating double-locking vibrato with a wang arm that I can't drop on the floor, so doesn't shatter, and I only break one a year if I'm gigging regularly and making too many elephant noises.... [Does not compute, can never have too many elephant noises!]
