Any takers?
Bishops Waltham isn’t far from me but I couldn’t live there as despite what the article says, it’s too far from anywhere good, if you don’t have use of a car/are too pissed to drive.
We did look around the town when we were looking to move to Hants, but got put off as when we were looking in the estate agents window, a couple of local teens rode past on their bikes and called me a fat cunt. So yeah....I mean, I am... but I don’t expect to be told so when strolling round a relatively quiet market town on a Sunday morning.
The lack of public transport and unruly youths were enough to encourage us to look elsewhere. Best decision ever as it goes... Southampton Parkway to Waterloo is an easy journey and takes over an hour.

I’m familiar with Guildford, Chichester, Caversham (daughter lives there), Farnham (son lives there), and Bishops Stortford. They’re ok to visit, but I wouldn’t actually want to live in any of them.
Cambridge
Paris
Milan
Edinburgh
Reykjavik if you don’t mind another hour on the plane.
Otherwise you can prioritise by guitar shops, in which case:
Stevenage (Coda)
Guildford (Andertons)
Farnham (Guitar Village)
Re: that list:
Brockenhurst - There may be plenty of restaurants (well, tea-rooms) but there's bugger-all else.
Ditto Bishop's Waltham.
Caversham really isn't separate from Reading (and hasn't been for about 100 years), though it's probably the nicest bit of it.
Farnham's quite nice.
