I bought this Rob Williams custom HSS superstrat from the forum last Autumn, I liked it from the moment I saw it although I don't always get on with Strat style guitars. It reminded me of a TA drop top, and red is one of my fave colours.
It had some signs of its age on the body and neck (I think it's around 20+ years old) and in the finish with a number of blemishes and even a burn by the bridge! Unfortunately it also had some wiring issues as the bridge humbucker wasn't working at full output, and gremlins had been at the wiring which looked atrocious. Which is a shame as they are hand wound pickups from the Little Guitar Shop in Birmingham, 2 vintage style singles and a low wind PAF in the bridge, with a coil split on the tone knob.
I contacted Rob with a view to having a complete overhaul including a refinish of the clear coat, a cosmetic tweak to the headstock, rewire/replacement of pots and switch, parallel switching instead of a coil tap, a gold pickup cover added, and a setup. It finally arrived back yesterday and it looks great!!
Nice to have it back, not had chance to play it yet.
