Get some Aloe Vera to treat the damaged skin. Best straight from the plant or use unadulterated gel/juice.
It's what glassworkers use to treat burns & promote healing, not just some phony remedy.

Ouch!! Poor kid, hope she recovers soon, both from the burn and the fright that inevitably went with it.

And stop apologising. We come a very distant second, third, fourth and so on to things like that. Do it when you can, if there's anyone here who can't wait, make 'em.
