Pickup issue - super high dc reading...

I’m in the process of wiring up some new paf style pickups to my ES335.  I thought I’d quickly check the dc resistance readings of the pickups before soldering them in.

The bridge is reading as expected at 7.85k.  However, the neck is reading 195k!

Any ideas what could be wrong? I might ordinarily just crack on and see what happens but rewiring a 335 is such a mission I don’t really want to have to do more than necessary.

I’m assuming there’s an issue but curious if there’s an obvious reason and reasonably simply fix.

195k could indicate a poor earth connection to the baseplate or a damaged coil.
You say, atom bomb. I say, tin of corned beef.

Thanks very much.  That’s a pain. Wish I’d tested them before I’d taken all the old electrics out and was close to finishing the rewire. It was all going too well...

I guess could try to check/fix the grounding issue but they’re brand new pickups, so I’ll return it for a new one.
