Help please...
Im in the mood to spend up to a grand on a thin body of some sort
Ideally non cutaway with a P90. No Humbuckers

little Sister fits the bill but I prefer old knackered stuff really

Some kinda Hofner maybe? Club 50 or Thinline Senator,
Gibson ES-120T is the one but it really is twice what I want to spend..

All suggestions greatly received

Sounds like you are after a B&G little sister crossroads. They are well regarded and occasionally come up secondhand in your price bracket. I honestly think anything old may prove a disappointment. Probably the waiting game ahead.

Does seem to fit the bill. Very hard to find them.
North American Guitars have them but there likely not in stock in the U.K.

That looks v cool. If I’m picking I would choose a neck position. And that’s solid.
Really nice guitars though, hadn’t considered them so far

  • If you haven’t seen these already, there are B&G little sister crossroads in the Black Friday sale at The North American guitar, £988:

Who knows how much the shipping and taxes are. Probably still works out more than £1500

That's a bit naughty, isn't it? As in slightly misleading. They were selling them at about £1100 recently anyway.

Really? Thought these shipped from the USA? Surely there will be customs duty and VAT and handling charges and and and....

Just checked and the email has come from their USA site, which is unusual for them. The Crossroads are made in China, the Private Builds are made in Israel, so not sure that they'd be coming from the USA. I bought a couple new from TNAG (no Black Friday or any other offers) for £1095 each, inc VAT and delivery pretty recently.

Gotcha. Makes a little more sense. Still miffed the advertised price isn’t really the price

Yes, that's what I meant really. I agree - you open up an email that says it's 'price A' and you don't expect it to be 'price B'. To be absolutely honest, they're not my favourite, so I'm perhaps biased.

Andy, you should find a used Little Sister Crossroads for under £1000. I bought and sold four in the last year (long story) plus a Private Build - the PB is better, but the Chinese built Crossroads are not far behind them for a quarter of the new price. The first one that I had, I sold to @Wazmeister and it was absolutely superb. I'd buy that back tomorrow.

It had a slimmer, rosewood (I think) fretboard than some the newer ones. It was superb. They are about.

Wouldn’t mind trying one but I’m not crazy about the look of them. Something about them I just don’t really like and can’t say what. They look kinda delicate in an off-putting way
They remind me off the Republic Miniolian weirdly
Sound pretty decent in the vids I’ve seen (every hollow with P90s sound good to me in vids) so I’ll pursue them slightly

I just bought a mustang by accident so this may be on the back burner for a week or two anyway

More suggestions welcome seeing as we’re back to the top with this
