Noisy trem springs

Does anyone know an easy way to quieten the tremolo springs in my DGT? For some reason they’re extremely splashy when playing unplugged and also comes through amplified esp with distortion or fuzz added.

I have a Strat that is much quieter, and yes I know you’re going to get that natural reverb from the trem springs but on the DGT it’s bugging me no end.

Put a piece of foam rubber under them, preferably nearer the claw end so they don't bind against it too much when you use the trem.

just one wrap of electric tape (the not-very-tacky kind) around each spring tends to do the trick - dampens the vibration, doesn't feel any different in use

you can get noiseless springs for a floyd, not sure if they would fit a DGT but cheap enough to try out?

Thanks folks, I’ll try the diy route before new springs.

The tape idea sounds simplest to try out first, sure I’ve got some that’ll do in my toolbox.

I just ‘fixed’ this with my DGT: a small piece of foam stuck in either end of each spring...imperceptible.

Silicon tubing inserted inside each spring works too.

Got to say I was dubious based on the price, but they work perfectly: no spring noise, and no tuning issues either

Have a close look at where the springs are, relative to the cavity and cover. I've seen more than a few where the springs rub one or other.

Also, if you've set the springs in a fan, rather than a straight pull, that adds a twist to the end which can add a creak or two.
