What I find hardest to come to terms with is that he didn't have to kill her. He only took her life from her in the vain hope that in doing so, he could increase his chances of getting away with it. He got what he wanted, sexually, but in order to try to save himself from a decade in prison, he decided he had to take her entire future away from her.
I've been torn about this in relation to the recent death penalty thread. On one hand, I don't think this evil monster deserves another day of breathing, but on the other, a copper in prison for the rape and murder of an innocent woman is going to be a target for the rest of his days. I can only hope that he spends every day of the rest of his miserable life in abject terror and is the recipient of regular vicious assaults from other inmates. RIP Ms Everard.

This mud ball holds some cross wired shysters. Sad.
I'm no expert, but I think both. Some people's brains are just wired up wrong. Others arrive at terrible acts from bad life experiences.
I watched a documentary on Jeffrey Dahmer. The breakdown of his parents' marriage seemed to trigger him into acting on thoughts he'd had for years before. So in his case, it seems as though it was a bit of both.
RIP Sarah.
