Anyone ever seen a Fender nut that looks like this?

I'm looking at a '78 Telecaster Custom on Reverb right now and am on the verge of pulling the trigger, and everything looks pretty good to my untrained eyes aside from this nut.

Apparently the guitar is all original aside from 3 screws holding a pickup in, but I've never seen a nut this colour before:

I was under the impression that Fender nuts were always bone, but if anyone more familiar with 70s Fenders could advise me on whether this was a thing back then or whether someone has turned a cheap plastic nut brown trying to artificially age a neck it'd be appreciated...

Got a picture of the rest of it - (I had one of those from new - my first decent guitar) - mind you it played like a dog!

Looks like the same nut material Tom Anderson were using. Well on my 20 year old Anderson, anyway. It's good stuff if it is. It won't be the original, for sure.

Looks like Tusq, it goes like that with UV exposure. Definitely not original.

Fender did not use bone nuts, they were a plastic called ‘Cyclovac’ - I’m not sure what chemical type it is but it doesn’t go brown like that.
