    This is the correct answer....

BBC F1 Intro Theme 2009 (Official) - YouTube

that's an extract from The Chain, thus would be excluded by the OP surely.
Yep - though I think songs/tunes that have become famous as themes is deserving of a separate thread.

It's not all guitar but it's the best movie theme song ever.

  • Maybe has more keyboard in it......but I can only hear the guitar......oh, and drums.

Nah, you're out of order too....  That's Nantucket Sleighride from the album of the same name IIRC.

Still great to hear it though.  Not that I haven't heard it a million times, but I never tire of it. :)

@MikeS Thanks, well done finding that!  :)

I think the vocal version is unbeatable - it's sort of cheesy in a way, but I love it so much it gives me chills and almost makes me want to cry every time I hear it!  Must be some strange subconscious thing, maybe I first saw the film at an impressionable age...

But that guitar version's cool too.  I really should learn to play it, for my own entertainment.

I believe Ralph Mctell's Alphabet Zoo is an original composition for a TV programme along with Tickle on the Tum.

I was thinking of Joe 90, but I could only find a clip about 6 minutes long....

I used to identify with Joe 90 - nerdy little blond kid with glasses.  He and the Milky Bar Kid were my role models.

Some good calls here but the best ones are from the 70s:

Roobarb and Custard has the nastiest fuzz tone ever and is a great tune.

Jamie and the Magic Torch has the lovely quiet intro which kicks into life with that fabulous crashing electric guitar chord.

  • Better call Saul theme tune by Little Barrie - they made it into a full length song and put it on their album
