Ah. Just reading that the modern versions have hot ceramic pickups. I've enough guitars that are being modded at the moment. Would prefer something that worked out of the box.
Either way, the pickups *are* too hot and bright, at least for me, on an otherwise top notch guitar (I sold mine)
The guitar in that pic is definitely not set up/intonated correctly and so would definitely need attention
If you were to get those pickups rewound by Aaron Armstrong (Kent’s son, based in the uk) - you’d have an excellent guitar (esp. if you put on some 12 or 13 gauge TI flats)

But since you understandably want something that you don’t have to mess about with…check out the Gibson ES275 that Dave (DB1) has for sale. A slightly smaller 175 with better pickups and a nicer cutaway. Great bloke and seller to boot
I do have an automated pickup winder here that I've been neglecting, could break it out and rewind them myself. But - lazy.
I noticed the skew-whiff tailpiece - I might have addressed that before taking product shots...
