I know Glenn pretty well and I've met Diff too. The Polka dot guitars were made for their 2011 tour- both Fender CS- Glenn has a Strat and Diff the tele. Glenn has some wonderful guitars including a 1952 Blonde Tele given to him by Elvis Costello for singing the backing vox to Good Year for the Roses. His main squeeze (no pun) is a 1966 black tele with Rosewood Board and B Bender. He's also got two of the most wonderful Taylors ever- a redwood 12 string and a dark wood 6 string with one of the best necks I've ever come across.
He is totally a straight into the amp guy- when he tried my Cornish board the comment was "this is the thin end- get me away from it before I spend money..."
And yes, his voice is sublime and his playing ridiculouly good.
Everytime he plays the Shep Bush Empire I get a call for a resident parking permit from him as I have house right by the Empire. I had the honour of doing Some Fantastic Place and Goodbye Girl with him in 2008 and he signed one of my old Tele's-

I reckon the way forward is to take a Pedaltrain, and make kind of a wooden cladding frame around it- would be great.
