  • Blacktop filtertrons seem to get a lot of love. And there are usually some avaible at pretty low prices as folk seem to swap them for more trad or boutique trons.

Regular HS Filtertrons are cheap in the grand scheme of pickup prices, and they sound fantastic.

  • If the blacktops meet your needs there's an ad in Parts now.

No affiliation to the seller BTW.

Blacktops have their own thing, a bit different to your trad ones. They're pretty tight in the bass, good for dirt.
Fletcher Pickups does great 'trons, I have three of those. And Catswhisker too (got some of his pickups, all great, but no trons).

Take care. Some budget offerings are merely regular humbuckers, with twelve screw polepieces, housed in slotted top metal covers.

Mojo all the way, Marc makes outstanding “Mojotrons”. I’m ignoring the “cheaper” part ;)

Blacktops, you can pick up a set for £50 or less, and they’re great.  They’re not TV Jones, but sound better than £50 pickups should.
I really like them, and I like Filtertrons.  Bargain

I was thinking of brands such as Vanson but was hoping not to name names.
