Fingerboard oil to highlight grain

What's Hot
I have a GSP G!bson Jnr I'd like some advice on.

The fingerboard has nice streaky rosewood and I'd like for it to be a teeny bit darker but without de-emphasizing the contrast in the grain. I applied lemon oil and it made it look bland and uniform, so stripped it off. Tru oil would perhaps do better, any other suggestions?

  • Monty’s Montypresso followed by instrument food. Take your time and be prepared for multiple applications, but it really does work a treat in the long run.

anything that makes it darker will reduce the contrast a bit as the light bits will change in colour more than the dark bits

I wouldn't use anything with colour or stain, stick with some tru-oil - rubbed on and buffed off.  Let time do the rest
