WTB (Possibly) Core PRS

What's Hot
Sadly a few months ago, due to unforeseen circumstances at the time, I had to sell my PRS MEQ and have been mourning it's passing ever since. Therefore after scrimping and saving I've got together some pennies and tentatively seeking a replacement, but with some distinct criteria....

1. Core PRS
2. No trems
3. No solid colours
4. Solid Rosewood neck an absolute must
5. Must be in good condition though not especially after a case queen.
6. Would even consider a non-runner if structurally sound.

As usual, no shirkers, chancers, or new members from obscure parts of the planet.
Thanks as always
Grampa
P.S. I'm a Telecoms Engineer NOT a bloody dentist before the usual witless muppets start spamming the thread.

    Good luck, grampa.
Hope you find another meq- I adore the one you kindly sold me.
@imalrightjack had an me2 for sale, but not sure if he withdrew it or sold it?

  • Thanks, @chris78 ;

@Grampa Bought my Modern Eagle Quattro, funnily enough, and I’ve been hovering over selling my MEII again, due to a McCarty arriving.

Glad you're loving the MEQ, it's a rather special piece of kit.
    Take care mate.

Just noticed there's a 2012 MEQ at Sound Affects, but it's a goldtop, so partially a solid colour...

Cheers Philly, did see that one but I think it must be genuine gold leaf at that price!

It’s pretty dinged up, for its price. It was on Facebook for a good chunk less before being traded.

Yeah, I've got no idea about market values I'm afraid.  I was just bored last night, looking at guitar shop websites seeing what PRS guitars they had in stock! :)

  • I've just been ogling a few DGTs on Jordans Guitars site Ian in case you haven't seen them yet - dealer prices but not ridiculous ones

No trems will rule out for the op, but there’s a dgt on the forum from a trusted seller on this forum which is way nicer than the Jordan’s ones at a comparatively reasonable price considering it’s spec  ;)

Thanks Chris, I will assume that all DGT's are trem? Never sure with PRS.

Absolutely. DGT stands for Dave Grissom Trem.
The model exists because DG liked McCarty Trem models and Paul had discontinued them. DG had worked with Paul on the original McCarty model. The DGT is a sensational guitar- one of the most vintage sounding PRS and versatile, but if you don’t like trems, it won’t work for you. Personally, I don’t ever use a Trem, but like the sound with it

There was a charcoal 594 with rosewood neck for 2999 at coda this week (also wood library I think).

Wish I'd jumped on that now. Was only up for a couple of days ..... :(
