Condition is excellent,  with the only blemish a small chip in the nitro topcoat on the underside. I have tried to show it but it is hard to see as it is not through the colour coat (see last pic). Frets and neck are excellent.
Comes with OHSC and paperwork. Weighs in at 3.55 Kg or 7lbs 13ozs

I am not especially looking for trades but a CS thinline tele might be of interest if it has the right spec ( not too reliced,  medium C with biggish frets) or px towards a Collings Soco

Please note: As the guitar is in Northern Ireland, there is no additional VAT or import duty for buyers in the EU  or GB

Shipping will be fully insured with DHL  or UPS depending on destination

Anyone who hasn’t tried a Paul’s guitar and needs a versatile guitar to cover a range of sounds and styles should. They’re the perfect gigging machine and both humbuckers and single coils sound amazing

  • I'm not sure if it's the lighting that's throwing the colour off, but (with the unmasked binding too, and black back too) that looks a lot more like Whale Blue than Faded Blue Jean, no?

I had one of these for a year or two and they really are quite special indeed!

I had another query about the colour.  It is Faded Blue Jean.  The back and neck are darkest blue, slightly translucent.  I don't think it is an unmasked wrap as you can see the flame of the top along the edge.  Looks like the topcoat was tinted as well.  You can see the edge in the last pic with the topcoat chip.

Since when? Faded blue jean is/was always a light blue, Whale has always been dark. I’ve just clicked that Whale blue usually has masked binding btw, it’s Royal Blue that doesn’t, but that has stained back & sides too - not a black back.

Here’s a typical Whale Blue PRS:

    And a Faded Blue Jean:

    And finally, Royal Blue:

Anyway, back to the guy’s ad - it’s a gorgeous guitar whatever the colour. GLWTS.

The listing at Musicstreet is still up and it is Faded according to to them.
Let's call it a desirable limited edition of Faded blue jean.

  • Haha, I like your thinking!

I'm guessing it's a 2019/20 model? PRS themselves list Faded Blue Jean as "Faded Blue Binding & Back" on their 2020 colours list for Paul's Guitars, so they must have changed the scheme while I wasn't looking - how very dare they?! :astonished:

Slightly confusingly, they also list the spec for FBJ on everything else (i.e. Artist packs, DGTs and any gloss nitro models) that year as "
Natural Binding & Back" for FBJ as well, and presumably that would be the more typical double-stained version akin to a 90s pair of 501s... helpful eh?

  • This was my Custom 24 in Faded Blue Jean:

Goes to show, there can be quite a big difference in appearance!  I had a Sapphire Smokeburst that had no apparent dark burst on the edges and the 594 I just bought was listed as Charcoal but is actually Faded Whale Blue.

Let's face it, the biggest question is always: "BUT DOES IT HAVE THE TAGS?"

All this bumpage is making me reconsider.
I have three electric and the only reason this is for sale is that my current strategy does not allow for two from the same manufacturer.

    Thank goodness

I usually throw the guitar away and keep the tags. It saves on space.
