Sold: Atkin The Forty Seven 47 aged / relic acoustic. Like Gibson LG-2
What's Hot
This is my immaculate case queen Atkin The Forty Seven.
Made in good ole Blighty by the fair hands of British craftsmen, this incredible homage to the guitars of yesterday that cost an absolute fortune now, but these play and sound (and smell!) better!
This is the smaller 47, based on a Gibson LG-2 but without the baseball bat neck. the top is baked to give that dried out aged tone and resonance that you do not get from most modern guitars, plus the thin aged lacquer with cracks, waves and deep pores as you would expect.
The guitar is awesome, not only for finger style, but it is a great strummer, and despite its size will challenge most dreadnoughts out there. It is balanced across the strings and gives a very Gibson tone, but open and not at all boxy, and even veers into Martin territory, not too dissimilar to my CEO-7.
Finances are needed elsewhere right now, so sadly letting this one go. It is as new with its hard case. It is impossible for you to be disappointed with this guitar, and Atkin models are being used more and more by artists in the US over their homegrown well known brands.
