Hi All,

I bought this from the goodly @DrCornelius and as the Doc said: "Has a really smooth action. Light as a feather , nice size and with a polite Lindy Fraulin neck p90 and a hot dynasonic in the bridge." I have a Gretsch G6120 DSV western orange and I find only one gets played. I won't be sad if it doesn't get sold that is for sure. Original thread is below with a full description and comments.  - https://www.thefretboard.co.uk/discussion/194519/on-hold-2005-gretsch-g6120w-1957

Gassage has identified that I no longer have an offset since I sold my Johnny Marr. I have the cash now but no space so I would need to let a guitar go. I paid £1625 and that is what I will let it go for, price is firm so no offers thanks.

Ideally, looking for a Vintera Jaguar Ocean Turquoise + fair amount of cash. Possibly interested in a trade for USA Jaguar (I suppose cash could be added either way) what is out there? I am fussy about the colour I don't like the sunburst jags.

Based in Wales near Swansea but travel to Bristol often. I don't want to operate with Couriers but willing to do some driving. Pictures stolen from the Doc cause I'm busy have shed loads to again - let me know if an issue.

That Gretsch is definitely one that got away . It’s a lovely guitar and one I’d love back if I had the cash, which unfortunately I don’t :-(

Sunburst is *the* colour for jaguars. You are quite, quite wrong  =)

How does it hold tune, I know the wider headstock can cause a new nut binding issues.
    What material is the nut?
is the bridge Dyna original, or has it been rewound? How do the pickups play together?

You would need an expert to confirm those questions @TheMarlin I think all stock. The tuning is fine looks to be original stock nut, I always use graphite powder so I don't own a guitar that has tuning problems. The last time it was hanging on the wall for a few months it came down not far off tune.

The bridge looks original Dyna sonic.

Hard to describe the tone of the P90 combined it evens out the Dynatron and changes the game when adding some overdrive. It can match these tones:

Mine is slightly more mellow because I dropped some flatwounds on.

The above video comes from the link below which has a full spec, I don't think it will be hugely different as it is only 1 year younger. Correct me if I am wrong but apparently 2004 was the start of Fender's quality control on Gretsch guitar.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Note: There are a few enquiries about this guitar. I would rather sell to somebody who can try this before buying - it is just the way I work, I would rather people be happy.

Not sure where @robgilmo is he usually buys all my guitars :-) I think he will vouch for me as a seller.

I’ve got guitars I can trade with cash, but not sure my stock fits the bill.

Heart set on a jaguar unfortunately. If I had more space I would ask what you have.

Does it have the usual Gretsch skinny neck?

I am no Grestch specialist but I'd say yes. I have just answered a DM and it feels exactly like my G6120 DSW which has a brass nut (the EC does not). Those construction specs are available here:

    https://diamondguitars.nl/product/gretsch-g6120dsw-2005/

Let me know if you want more info. I see you are Bristol based I can travel across next weekend depending on other discussion in background you are free to try it next weekend 2nd April. I can bring to your place if you want to hear it through your own kit.

    DM me if interested.

Thanks for the offer but I prefer fatter necks. I've heard there are some models that have 'em but I havn't found one yet! Love the idea of a P90 with the dynasonic though.

God I'd love this back, its such a playable guitar..... How does a Jaguar trade sound if that Jaguar is cunningly disguised as a 1978 Strat ? :-)

     :-)

The Gretsch quality at that period is certainly impressive with what I have seen on the two I have owned, superb guitars.

Looking forward to it. It’s won’t be the first guitars that’s passed through your hands on the way to mine, but they usually go though the @dazzajl filter first…
