This is the thread for Listening Party #16, which will start at 8pm sharp on 6th of July, so cue up your CD or vinyl, rewind your tape or add to your Spotify playlist ready to go.
For an explanation / idea of what we are trying to do, please read
the original thread
Please chip in with any positive comments or observations on each tune as they are being played in real time. There will be plenty of opportunity to expand on longer thoughts if you want to after the 'live' thread has finished, so keep them short and upbeat during the playback period. There will be a very short drinks interval about half way through.
The 16th record we are doing is
Ingénue by
k.d. lang (1992)
Looking forward to listening with you all.

So, it will have to have a spin.
I bought this album when it came out and have loved it ever since. One of my biggest regrets is that when k.d. lang was touring this album, she played the Hammersmith Odeon, which was less than a five minute walk away from where the future Mrs V and I were living at the time, and we missed out on tickets by a couple of hours because I didn't find out until too late (no internet in those days!).
I still listen to it regularly and am looking forward to giving it another play tomorrow. See you there I hope!
As for "when am I ready?" You'll never be ready. It works in reverse, you become ready by doing it. - pmbomb
I don't think so - there are 10 tracks in all versions I've seen.
- "Save Me"
- "The Mind of Love"
- "Miss Chatelaine"
- "Wash Me Clean"
- "So It Shall Be"
- "Still Thrives This Love"
- "Season of Hollow Soul"
- "Outside Myself"
- "Tears of Love's Recall"
- "Constant Craving"
We'll have a break after track 5, so in between "So It Shall Be" and "Still Thrives This Love"(only heard the odd single up to now)
