Good YouTube Channels

What's Hot
I'm looking for suggestions on other good channels like That Pedal Show.  I also subscribe to: JHS, Wampler (he's not doing much these days), Andertons, Pete Thorn; so something along these lines would be good.

Anyone have something for me to check out?

    There are loads and loads.

Pedal of the Day - it's not great but he seems to have a lot of pedals you don't see elsewhere. Kind of channel I subscribe to and only actually watch one in ten.

Pedal Experiments - low budget/ bit amateur but a) he gave me a pedal b) again features unusual pedals sometimes and his reviews can be quite thorough and C) he does do some wacky stuff with pedals that I haven't seen on other channels.

Of the more polished ones I like Brett Kingman as he's a great guitarist and has a nice straightforward approach.
Chicago Musical Exchange did good videos, I'm now wondering if they still make them but I liked their approach.
Sweetwater aren't brilliant but they are quick with new gear (they sell about half a million guitars a year plus pedals, amps, pro audio, etc, etc) and occasionally have an interesting interview or feature. Again, probably subscribe but be choosey on which ones you want.
I like Mike Hermans as well. I know that his dad rock with no talking approach doesn't appeal to everyone but he's a clever musician.
Tipton is a small fishing village in the borough of Sandwell.

Andy bass and guitar for luthier / refurb porn.
Darrel braun guitar - for me , whilst a bit cheesy, gets the important things right. Mostly reviews.
Rhett Shull - reviews, tips on maintenance. Not the best imho but worth a look for detailed videos/make your own mind up on conclusions
Chris Buck, reviews and a great player.
Imho all > anderstons who just shill what they stock.

    Dont worry, be silly.

+1 for Brett Kingman. He usually gets the length of his reviews spot on and he's a fine player. Gets to the point quickly and has the skill to show a pedal at its best.

Twoodfrd is my favourite. Just really nice repairs from what seems like a lovely man. Drops a video early evening every Sunday

I used to like Chris Buck, but every video is exactly the same. Introduces himself out the side of his mouth then play the same boring thing for 6 minutes.

Sick burn!  As Josh would say.

I met Chris at the Birmingham show.  Nice guy!  I only occasionally watch his channel though.

For sheer fun, comedy and inside industry knowledge Justine Hawkins rides again

For music theory David Bennett Piano ... never mind it's piano as it's music theory and applies to every instrument.

For learning more advanced guitar, 501chorusecho ... AKA home skooling Tom Bukovac  ... this is by far the best thing i've seen on YT and it's the most I've learned from any other guitarist.

Another vote for Rhett Shull and Justin Hawkins.Takes a a few goes to get used to his style but some great content.
I'm als a fan of Music is Win. I imagine Tyler isn't everyone's cup of tea but the videos are well made and the content is generally interesting.

Home Skoolin' is the best show on YT!! My favourite without a doubt.

If you like TPS then definitely give the Studio Rats a go, they're great.

Rick Beato is an obvious one if you haven't come across him yet, aswell as Guthrie Trapp and Tim Lerch. I had a lesson with Tim a couple of months ago and he is a fantastic educator!

Finally, Dipped In Tone (podcast) and Matthew Scott (vintage guitar and amp safaris)!

I don’t watch nearly as many gear review videos as I used to back when I started (2019), but I don’t remember finding any objective review channels. They all had their biases. TPS is great but they only show the stuff they like. Dave Simpson can be entertaining but has yet to say something is shit. Elmo Karjalainen is not afraid to say something is shit, but he’s got very narrow tastes and indeed I’ve found myself enjoying gear he’s panned, and viceversa. I guess the ideal scenario is when Elmo shows you the downsides of something someone else likes, so you can form your own opinion.

I don’t watch videos made by the shops unless there’s literally nothing else showcasing the stuff I am interested in. I try to go looking for the comments I don’t want to hear when I’m obsessing about a pedal, an amp, etc.

What I do watch (a lot) these days are teaching videos. Marty Music, Justin Guitar and Paul Stafford Cook and others have interesting things (the former two’s stuff overlaps a but that’s OK).

Sounds Like Emma on TikTok is worth looking at for drumming stuff. She also has a YT channel which is more focussed on breaking things down and song recommendations

I've been enjoying Psionic Audio's amp repair channel

SuperFunAwesomeHappyTimePedalShow are another nice antipodean view on gear (with a bit of a focus on IRs and plugins too)

SpiralCasterPlaysPedals has always had a nice way of demoing pedals, but has recently radically changed format - not yet sure what the channel will look like going forward

Alyona Vargasova is well worth following - she plays in a way that is alien and fascinating to me

    Dip Switch demos

Emily Hopkins is interesting for using guitar pedals on harp (recently featured on JHS show)

Crimson Guitars are always fun to check out

Andre LaFosse is well worth a watch if you have any interest in looping. He covers a lot of plugins and pedals and pushes them in extremes I would never think of

Bigfoot Engineering don't update their YT very often, but when they do it's very interesting

Ricky Tinez is nice for chill out about synth gear

Loopop is the most thorough synth reviews out there:

Tom Cardy if you like musical commedy

Tristan Paredes does nice vocal breakdowns

AudioPilz look at gear everyone loves to hate is always entertaining

Last but not least Dickie's 90 second demos
