This Custom Shop Stratocaster is packed with surprising features. Let's begin with the lightweight sorted alder wood and a stunning AA flamed maple neck. Lacquer on this one got to Fender Color Wall in 2015, it's a thin nitro coating in Faded Burgundy Mist.

The relic job is done by Fender master builder - Paul Waller and is a tasty example of a gentle relic job that really reminds a vintage instrument.

Hardware is classic yet robust vintage keys and 6-point bridge, single-ply pickguard loaded with 3 1959 singles hand-wound by one and only Josefina Campos. Has a bell sound and a bite, a classic one!

Just to understand, this is a team built guitar reliced by Paul Waller?
I’m confused why a masterbuilder works on a team built guitar?

I was going to ask, as my eyesight can't make it out - does it state on the documentation that the relicing was done by PW?

Stunning tone on the video by the way - what are you playing through?

Yes, exactly. I don't know who built the guitar but the relic job is done by P. Waller. See the photo album link to see the Floor Shop Traveller, please. I had Paul's masterbuilt strat and the paint/relic job is the same. I like this one more tho, because it's not as bright as the masterbuilt was.

Thank you! The recording was done via Line 6 Helix with AC30 simulation I believe

Aaaah, I hadn't spotted the full photo album. That's really cool that PW did the relicing work. As @chris78 said, unusual for a Teambuilt.

Listening to the variety of tones in that makes me wonder why I need anything more than a Strat really....wonderful stuff.

    Great guitar. GLWTS.

  • In my opinion the finish and wood used is what sets this one apart. It's not a regular CS strat, has nice flames maple neck, unusual color and top-class gentle relic job. The "Wall of color" tag is a nice perk I think :)
Nevertheless it's a great sounding strat, that's what it is

I live in Poland but I will be flying to UK on October 3rd, also I have trusted shipment companies that can deliver tax-free (already used it with multiple people in this forum, and can provide recommendations). If you have any questions - let me know, we can make a call and discuss

Sorry for the late reply mate. As far as I was able to understand Fender does (or did) Wall Color expositions in the NAMM show. Most likely this one was #127 in the wall of 2015
