Can I add a pickguard to a non-pickguard superstrat?

I've got a GJ2 Shredder which has 2 humbuckers mounted in rings and no pickguard.

What would I need to do to convert it so that it was H/S/S?

Presumably I'd need to fit a pickguard and route underneath it to accommodate the pickups?

Or is this going to be a massive project?

I also assume I'd need to get or make a custom pickguard.

Here's a pic of the guitar, although mine is black.

Probably easier to rout for a central single coil and suspend it from a metal surround. Mount the neck position single coil via a plastic plate, cut to the size of a humbucker surround but with a single coil sized hole cut through it. (Alegree stocks them.)

Alternatively, just reconfigure the selector switch.

The Ibanez/DiMarzio five-way circuit offers:
1 Bridge HB
2 Inner Coils of both pickups for faux Stratocaster "in between" sound.

3 Bridge + Neck HBs
4 is neck humbucker with its coils connected in parallel.
5 Neck HB.

A workable compromise involving minimal mangling of your guitar.

Thanks for the suggestions. I might go for just wiring it differently.

The pickups are JB/59 and I've heard that this works for splitting etc.
