WTB Ibanez Jem 7Vwh (or similar)

What's Hot
Looking for a  MIJ Jem 7vwh ideally or a similar variant.  There's a couple on ebay but too far away and no postage.
Would possibly also consider sensibly priced premium models.
Happy to travel within a couple of hours from Lancs.
Please feel free to PM

  • I've got a beat up white Korean 555 with replacement lo pro trem. Based in East Lancashire. Might be worth a conversation?
    My trading feedback

is it crazy how saying sentences backwards creates backwards sentences saying how crazy it is?

What about Ibanez J Custom models? Hands down way better than Jems.

  • Thanks - not seen that. Bit pricey for the condition though I think.

Yes I'd consider one of those.  Are they really much better though?

  • They’re different. Necks are different. I love them both.

Just sold a VWH JEM, and currently have a VWH jem neck on a J Custom body.

    I also have a J custom.

Jems have a more “strat like” neck. Definitely different profile.

Bodies depend on the wood, but necks are different.

    For whatever it’s worth!

I def think the J Customs are better made. More attention to detail. That's just my opnion having owned lots of Jems and J Customs. Only thing with Jems is that there is a mark up in price on them as they are a signature guitar so Steve Vai has to get his cut of every one that is sold. The Jems are still excellent though. You could get lucky and grab a 7vwh for about £1500 in good nick. The one's with the Lo Pro are more desirable and even more so if they are pre 2004 with the Lo Pro and Ebony board.

I'd agree they're (the J Customs) are a step up in quality (on average). Sweet spot for me is 2000 ish, low pro etc.

Worth trying a few. How is difficult, I just cycled through a bunch from eBay/Ishibashi.
