Morning. Finally got round to building my patchwork bass - I'll do a build thread now it's finished. I got some random offcuts very kindly sent to me from @GSPBASSES ;Just wondering who can help me identify the woods.

I'm thinking from left to right: Swamp Ash, Standard Ash (this is the one I'm not sure about), Mahogany and Alder? This pic is taken just after I wiped it with spirits to pop the grain a little.

Cheers!

I'd say limba (korina) for the one you're not sure about.

It's idigbo (terminalia ivorensis), very closely related to limba/korina (terminalia superba)

I don’t know, but my first thought was that you’ve got a bad case of Boring Beetle in that...

    :)

Can’t help with the wood but it’s going to look great. Please promise you’re going to give it a natural finish of some type.

I'm a bit worried that because of the grain direction all the tonez are going to be approaching the pickups at an angle, from an East South Easterly direction or at Three and a Half O'Clock, and it might be a bit trebly

It's going to really mess with the people who are convinced all the tone comes from the body wood
