And he's using an Ampeg amp for his main sound (model?) - what's the Fender champ(?) used for?
do I understand it right he's only using the Coloursound pedal as a boost to kick in for sustain /feedback on ocassion -
otherwise I'm guessing he's using his guitar volume pots for overall control of volume / grit?
How primitive gear was in the early 70s. It was pretty much plug in and play.

Looks like he's covered over the twists at the end of the strings too. Wonder if he ever learnt the ball end trick
Those pickups are really low.
I'm sure there's a lot more complexity to it if you really get in to the weeds, but basically the height of the pickup determines volume, and angling one side higher than the other can alter the balance between the bass and treble strings.
