GLWTS Will. These guitars are far more than just jazz boxes, they're very felxible. The P90 in the hollow body is a wonderous thing and can be very dynamic with slight tweaks of the volume and tone controls.

That seems like very good value. Given the cost of 175s and that they don't make them anymore, this seems like a bit of a steal for a vintage offering

As somebody who actually favours non-vintage guitars, what I will say is that most modern 175s are nothing compared to examples from the 50s. And IMHO there is no beating a single P90 on these

I don't know why I clicked on this thread because I can't really play guitars like this properly and I can't remotely afford it, but that is just the most beautiful thing.

For what it's worth - it probably makes no odds - but I think the case is an early 80s Japanese one, probably from a Matsumoku instrument... I've got an Aria case from then, the same brown colour with the same lining material and similar latches.

I could probably afford the case, if it helps? :D

Very nice. So they’re the same size as the 175? The photo makes them look bigger.

They are quite different, the cherry reissue has a chunkier neck but the old one has the lovely Brazilian rosewood board. All three have same body size but all sound different to each other. Nothing beats the old ones imo but the reissues are still great guitars.
