    If you go down the Osmo route it’s a lot lighter colour than tru oil. So it easily takes artists oil paint pigment colours. I would make a white Osmo base coat using titanium white coat that on for a few days till you have covered most of the flaws you will find you have a better base to put a solid top coat on. Again pick an oil pigment or mix a colour you like using multiple tubes. Finish with clear osmo or tint a little to increase saturation or to give aged finish like lacquer ageing.

    alternatively summer is coming just get a couple of rattle cans and do a nice nitro.

    Thanks @Jez6345789 how well will those approaches work on top of an oiled finish?

    Having said that I’m going to finish what I’ve done and see how it plays. If I like it and the finish bugs me I may then redo
