These are surprisingly unknown in the uk, yet one of the most popular makers in the US. Joe Knaggs was PRS design guru and head of Private Stock until he left with most of the PRS private stock team in 2009. The guitars he makes are private stock quality and range from tier 3 (basically core prs) to tier 2 (artist grade) to tier 1 (private stock). The wood gradings though don’t show the fact that all the guitars are built by PRS Private Stock luthiers, even a tier 3.

This Kenai is one of the early ones with an early serial number and is classic singlecut with Seymour Duncan Seth Lovers. It’s a massive sounding guitar and amazing looking California Sunset finish (think a sort of Black Gold). Classic 24.75 scale, 12 inch radius, mahogany body and neck etc. 

For the money you can’t even buy a factory built Gibson Les Paul Standard and anyone telling me the Gibson is even half the guitar simply hasn’t played a Knaggs. 

Condition wise, this is used, not abused. You’ll find some light pick marks on the top, the nickel is a touch dull, frets would benefit from a clean and polish, but for a guitar that’s older than a decade it’s in good condition and the fact it’s been used shows it’s good un that you could take to a gig tomorrow in place of your favourite singlecut and wow everyone.

Happy to meet within a reasonable distance of Chatham, Kent or the missus is an expert at wrapping for postage purposes in its hard shellcase.
