1988 Telecaster

I bandy the word keeper a lot regarding my guitars but there are unlimited cool guitars versus my limited space and money.  I thought this was my tele though its seen off a few great ones.  However the arrival of a birth year tele custom means its time for this one to go.

It came to me in the original sunburst finish but someone had started stripping it and given up halfway.  I sent the body to Iamf68 who refinished it in reliced sonic blue nitro to match the already reliced neck (don't know whether on purpose or worn). The sonic blue is doing exactly what I wanted and starting to get a greenish hue in places like the old blues do.  The body finish is pretty reliced, not much worn through to wood as that isn't my thing but lots and lots of checking and chips.

The neck, body, tuners, bridge and some of the electrics are original.  It has bare knuckle country boys pickups which is what drew me to it along with the neck.  There are marks on the cowboy chords frets but nothing that has ever bothered me.  Weighs 7lb 12oz on my cruddy kitchen scales.

I have had a CTS jack and screw in cup installed and an oak grigsby 4 way with 1-3 being normal tele positions and 4 being both pickups as a humbucker, which sounds great.  It came to me with no case but I have a cheap and cheerful case or a fender gig bag, it currently has the black pickguard on but the aged white can come with it too, although it has screw holes.

I'm after an all solid acoustic (dreadnought) so may consider one in trade or P/ex but would need to try it first.

AO 50s Strat - TRADED ELSEWHERE

Lovely see through nitro with nice ash grain visible. This was described when I bought it as 7.5 lbs,  Having weighed it on uncalibrated tiny kitchen scales for a request, it comes up as just under 8lbs but I can't say how reliable that is.

Has the Pure Vintage 59 pickups (which are terrific, low output though in case not your thing).  There are a couple of marks worst is on the back of the upper horn as shown.

Neck is 9.5 radius and the chunkiest strat neck I've ever played making it very comfortable to play.  It's a 2020 and to my knowledge all original.  Has the original paperwork, bridge cover and whammy bar.

The down side is the case, the outer latches are broken and has some marks, the middle latch holds it fine for sending and I have a box which will fit the case - this is as it was when I bought it, I intended to  fix the latches or replace the case but never got round to it.
