Zvex, Ehx, Blackstar, Dwarfcraft and Effector13. Price drops
What's Hot
I`ve been meaning to get my finger out and do this for a while, so here we go.
First up, some fuzz.
Dwarfcraft Devices Dream Mangler. The left side is the Vintage Fuzz Master. It`s silicon, it`s heavy and it`s really quite transparent. Rolling off the volume cleans it up nicely too. The two mini toggles are for "chaos" and "noise".
T`other side is the disaster fuzz. It`s a little more refined than the VFM and has a switch for oscillation. The knobs are for volume and the joystick (oh yes, the effing joystick) in addition to putting a great big smile on your face controls the fuzz levels on an x/y axis. When you start flipping the switches it gets really fun. You can control the oscillation. 9v only.
This is a really good solid fuzz with the added benefit of being able to melt peoples faces off when you need it to. £160
Next is an Effector 13 Truly beautiful disaster. This was the company before Devi Ever and is the same pedal. No less nuts than the mangler it brings something quite different to the table.
Controls are, volume, fuzz, octave, blend and warp. Toggles for gate, eye and warp.
Left dpdt is bypass, t`other is for the effects loop (pauses for effect). You can put other pedals in the loop and either have the normal sound, or you can have warp toggled and it turns it in to a feedback loop. You can then turn the eye on and use the photo cell (next to the loop switch) to make your pedal of choice self oscillate. Different types of pedals do different things, different brands of the same pedals do different things. It`s just crackers. If you like making noises, this may be the best thing in the world. For all it`s lunacy, it remains a good general purpose fuzz. £160
There are some great Youtube clips of the above pedals which i strongly recommend watching.
Zvex Distortron. Just a great od/distortion based on a Marshall. £65 sold
Zvex Super Hard On. Hand painted with a few chips. Stonking! £85 sold
Blackstar HT-Drive. Only used a couple of times. It`s just not for me. £70
EHX frequency analyser. Classic ring mod Boxed, but no psu £30. Pics to follow on this one but it`s the big 90`s one from the black/green muff era.
