Never intended to sell this but I got very lucky with finding a 40s L5 at a good price and, unless a Super 400 comes along, I've probably sated my archtop desires (famous last words). This is such a beautiful sounding archtop and is in very good condition,  it's had some overspray, replacement tuners and replacement scratchplate with a floating humbucker (I suspect this is Kent Armstrong but not 100% sure on that). It comes with what I believe is the original scratchplate bracket though. Also comes with a 70s Gibson hardcase.



Currently strung with roundwounds,  sacrilegious I know, but this is how it was when I bought it and it sounded so good, I've kept using rounds on it. I'll happily put flats on it if the buyer prefers.

Only small issue is that a previous owner seems to have taken the deluded decision to doctor the 7 on the model number to make it look like a 5...why anyone would do this, particularly as it's so obvious to anyone, even from a distance, that this is an L7, is beyond me but there you go. 

£2500 (before it goes to a shop for a lot more) - cheapest you'll ever see one I expect. 

Collection/meet-up preferred (ideally near High Wycombe but can travel) but can post via UPS. Looking for a sale ideally but may entertain p/x of something vintage.

Next, a 1966 Kalamazoo-made Epiphone Howard Roberts in very rare natural finish, most were sunburst or cherry. I believe this is the only instance in which a guitar started off as an Epiphone model and subsequently became a Gibson one, when Gibson reissued it in the 70s. From what I've read, Howard was an Epiphone player originally and when approached about a signature model, he was clear that he wanted it to be an Epi. 



The guitar itself is basically a Gibson L4 with a round sound hole, a 25.5" scale and a Johnny Smith mini humbucker (all factory of course). As such, it has a solid spruce top and an incredible sound both acoustic and electric, its a genuine two guitars in one. Original Epiphone case too. 

In very good condition,  just some minor dings and scrapes.
