SOLD

1995 Hamer USA Artist Studio Semi Hollow Double Cut in 59 Burst colour

Hamer made amazing guitars, to my mind they are far better built than similar USA brands but they have never really got the following they truly deserve. A beautiful archtop featuring a carved flamed solid maple top, One piece figured Honduran Mahogany body and Hamer's very stable 3 piece  mahogany neck, East Indian Rosewood fretboard,  factory Seymour Duncan Seth Lover pickups, and Schaller tuners. Very resonant and a comfortable weight of 8Lbs

Used but certainly not abused, the comfortable chunky neck plays like a dream, the action is really low, too low for some players I'd guess, no buzzing and choking.

Comes with original Hamer hard case.

Electrics all spot on. Frets all good. Adjustable wrap over stop tail piece.

There is some flaking of the varnish on part of the lower edge of where the Rosewood meets the Mahogany, doesn't affect playability and to be honest I'd forgotten about it until taking the pics, it is out of sight when playing. Looks worse in pictures to be honest.

It is a top quality guitar that will only go up in value IMHO and I will not be upset or bothered if it does not sell, I'm just trying to be a bit sensible about the growing amount of guitars I have and the little time I get to enjoy them.

£1160 delivered UK mainland

Will be very well packed and will use Parcel Force 24 Hour option.

That'd make half of a nice pair!

(I'm not in the market, but wow anyway)

Yes it would indeed Tony, I know I am going to regret letting this go sometime down the line, just like I regretted the other two some years ago :)

FWIW I regret selling my Studio. In hindsight I should've changed the pickups and kept it.

Personally I'd love this but I'm a bit short on the asking price sadly. I imagine the Seth Lovers are less hot than the SD 59 / JB combo too.

    Are you absolutely sure?

I’m going to go and check my (one or two) now.

I was convinced it was neck pickup volume then bridge pickup volume and then the master tone…

… but you said it with such conviction I’m now doubting myself and these things are my specialist subject.
I'm always looking for interesting USA Hamers for sale.

At the moment I'm looking for:
    * Hamer Watson, SS2, Vintage S, T62.
    * Music Man Luke 1, Luke II

    Please drop me a message.

I had the first Hamer Sunburst into this country in 1978
They are a stunning guitar .......and easily surpassed the contemporary Gibsons .....probably the first 'boutique' brand in the hands of JOEL  DANTZIG .
It all went wrong in the 2000s but the guitars of the 70S  80s and 90s were superb.....they all play with an incredibly low action

Yeah mine are as above. Not that it matters if yours is different of course.

its an awesome guitar made by craftsmen who care about what they do, with hardware and materials carefully selected to be as good as they can be as standard.

Under £1,200 for an Artist? That’s a bloody superb bargain!

Your right sir, it is neck then bridge and then tone, I could have sworn it was the other way round, been playing my Grissom a lot lately and got confused....happens a lot lately :)
