Ah yes, that famous amp we've all been raving about for years and begging for a reissue of…

It’ll be fun finding replacement valves for that bad boy.

I love the old gibson amps... I don't love that Randall Smith might go and Mesa-ize them... But we'll see.

If they make an eh185 replacement I'd likely just buy unseen though tbh

I'm not sure these will be that authentic...

Didn’t they constantly change the Falcon circuit?

Why would anyone purposely design an amp around obscure and difficult to find valve types in the 21st century? Stupid.

Hopefully the blurb is only referring to the original 1961 Falcon and the new one will have more sensible valves?

Very unlikely to be anything like an accurate reissue. Probably a completely modern design (if a valve based product can be described as modern) with Falcon styling. I wouldn’t be surprised if it isn’t even made in the USA.

That photo suggests the new amp has some sort of power scaling, which presumably isn't a feature of the original? So unlikely to be a faithful recreation.

to widen even more, the gap between normal people and cork sniffing rich and/or famous ?

A little misleading and as you can see and probably already know these amps are designed by Mesa-Boogie so may be quite good !

In the same way a Gibson Goldtone was a Trace Elliott Velocette

Which wasn’t exactly a good thing, until Gibson properly redesigned it. (And consequently doubled the price.)

Has there ever been a Gibson Falcon model in any of the modellers???

Actually, I'm excited to hear it.

TBH, I think its more interesting *BECAUSE* its not an amp everyone bleats on about - it should be a unique voice in a market full of clones and "sounds a bit like" amps.

    Never Ever Bloody Anything Ever.

    MusicRadar reminds us:

"Randy is working on the design of what are going to be the next evolution of Gibson amplifiers as well," the CEO revealed. "They are going to be made in Petaluma, California. So Randy's been leading that."

Looks like a new Gibson Theodore model in the promo video for Falcon amps is being teased as well.

Sounds cool but given the lack of Mesa amps outside the US, I'm not sure how many of these will make it over here.
