HX Stomp is a great piece of gear but I found myself tweaking too much instead of just playing.

If you're sat at a computer writing/recording anyway I'd recommend at least trying the new Two Notes Genome plugin. I'm still yet to buy it but having the trial I found it really easy to get on with, pretty much just set up a preset with amp/cab/reverb and that was it, didn't feel the need to keep tweaking. I do like having a bit of hardware to be detached from the computer/another screen so it's got me interested in the Opus which uses most of the same TSM preamp models.
