The first issue with the Meraki is that you only get one side of the delay (a single mono delay) if you wire it up in mono. I contacted Walrus and they said that I can put a patch cable from the output of one side into the input of the other. So now it works as a dual series delay - which is more of the comparison to the future factory.
I haven't put it back to back with the discovery yet, but have been piddling about back to back with the Meris LVX (did I mention I've got a stupid number of delay pedals).
My initial reaction to the Meraki is that it hasn't got a huge amount of adjustment in the tone/eq. It's fairly murky whatever you do. So I think the discovery is going to win there.
But I have to say the Meraki sounds really musical. I'm an Andy Timmons tone fan and the Meraki does immerse you in a cloud of sound. (Although, weirdly I haven't bought a Halo pedal - yet). The repeats are really good at getting out of the way of your playing even when the mix is up pretty high.
Will get the discovery powered up in a bit.
