New Mac line-up

What's Hot

Forget the ipad retina 2

New mac line up is interesting.

All mac minis are dual core only, but the second you spec em up to get better performance you hit the imac price range

Why even bother with the mini?

1.4Ghz imac (dual core but with 8GB memory now £900), but then for £150 more you get a quad core.

New top of the range 27 inch 5k retina imac looks very tasty the price tag not quite so.

It has always been that way, iMac is better value but then you end up with a lot of bloody screens when you upgrade !

The iMac design is looking a bit tired.

We have a load of Mac Minis at work to drive the big tellys in meeting rooms they are nice tidy little machines.

If you've already got a keyboard, mouse and screen then a Mac Mini is less than half the price of an iMac.

Luckily I work for a certain American Fruity Computer Company, so I get them all cheap anyway.

  • Loaded Yosemite on my 4GB macbook air and it gone from having on average 35-50% free memory to 10-15%.   all seems to work well for email and web surfing but its a slight concern that it might run out of memory is i give it anything complex to do.

And me. I secretly yearn for a Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac featuring Jeremy Spencer plus Danny Kirwan lineup reunion. I know it'll never happen tho.

Given their software release quality record recently I'm holding off everything ...

  • Really disappointing there is no quad core. Was thinking of putting a small Logic/garage band work station together for the kids as that is what they use at school.

I have a work mac (amongst many, many other laptops and jazz)
I have logged into it once. I just dont get the hype. Its a computer. Yeah its a bit shiny but the way every bangs on I was half expecting it to suck my penis or something.
The Bigsby was the first successful design of what is now called a whammy bar or tremolo arm, although vibrato is the technically correct term for the musical effect it produces. In standard usage, tremolo is a rapid fluctuation of the volume of a note, while vibrato is a fluctuation in pitch. The origin of this nonstandard usage of the term by electric guitarists is attributed to Leo Fender, who also used the term “vibrato” to refer to what is really a tremolo effect.

If the computer at work does start sucking your penis, then it is probably time to lay off the acid...

Can I have a job for a day @stonevibe because a MacBook Pro is calling me (and I've not got access to education prices anymore!!)
Having trouble posting images here?  This might help.
