    In the past tailors traditionally worked sitting down cross-legged using the inside of their thighs as a workbench. They were too poor or did not have their own space for a workbench. For this sartorial reason, the strap like muscle which follows the line of the inner thigh is called Sartorius. (Latin for tailor is sartor).
