Holy Crap. That's like the the grunge equivalent of the Beano guitar being nicked and nobody being able to fess up to owning it. So instantly recognisable, and if you disguised it then it would be worth nothing.

See Guy Pratt's social media output from a couple of weeks back for an example. He out out feelers about a bass he thought he'd lost. It turned out that it was with a luthier for repair and he'd forgotten to pick it up.

I've done it...

I put something in a different hardcase, forgot about it for a year or two, then couldn't find the guitar and assumed I'd gotten rid of it or something! I only 'found' it again when I sold the guitar that the hardcase belonged to

Could've been worse. You could've bought the same guitar as a replacement only to find you never lost the original in the first place

I saw on facebollocks someone left their Corona Strat on the tube the other day…

I mean fucking hell. If you’re on the tube with your guitar your hand does not loosen its grip on the case handle at ANY point.
